Compass Community Partnerships

Listening Encouraging Sharing

Chris Allen

I formed Compass Community Partnerships in 2000 and to bring together those who live in communities with those who provide services to them.

Success is a journey - it is not a destination

I have run my own neighbourhood regeneration consultancy for over 20 years and have been an accredited adviser to central and local government. As the national Big Local programme draws to a close, we can see lessons from there plus the long term evidence from programmes such as the New Deal for Communities programmes shaping the Government's 'Plan for Neighbourhoods' policy. Key to this policy development is evidence being collected by the Independent Commission on Neighbourhoods.

I have the privilege of working with senior politicians and officers as an adviser on matters relating to community engagement, community safety and young people.

I am an accomplished regular broadcaster and podcaster, offering training in media skills and podcast development. I present weekly radio shows “Chris Allen's Sunday Show" and the Wolverhampton Business Show and Podcast on Wolverhampton's WCRFM. I have also presented the three series of the Local Trust's “Community Power Podcast”.

My background, as a Church of England priest, also gives me insight into faith communities. I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
